Billboard Photography
After walking around hartlepool in search of locations to capture images i found something particular which caught my eye, this was bill board photography.
I think its really interesting when the images on the billboards are worn and torn down. I also find it really interesting to actually take note of what pictures and advertisements are on the billboards. They are often in very bright bold colours which makes them stand out against the often drab and worn out streets which they stand in.
By taking note of whats on the billboards I've noticed that in particular they are often advertising 'bargains'. This leads me to wonder whether this is a reflection of hartlepool, are the advertisements chosen as they are believed to be what the people of hartlepool would take notice of?
I've found a photographer on flickr during my research, whom has done a billboard study. its interesting to look at work by other photographers who have captured images of billboards as this can give me more inspiration and ideas such as interesting view points these kind of images can be taken from.
