Social Media
Social Media
During the course of my final year, I have created several social networking platforms In the aim to get my work out there and seen. Phones, the interest and social media especially are growing faster than ever and during times like now I almost feels like these aspects rule todays world. To not use my initiative and jump at this opportunity of using social media to help advertise myself and my work would be very silly of me. I see so many people I follow on social media these days actually start up a career simply from being seen or getting known on social media.
One reason why I find having made a photography instagram so helpful is because it allows me to be more creative and relaxed with my photography. I take so many photos on my phone and often prefer or find it easier to take photos on my phone than I do using my professional camera. I find it easy to share my images within seconds on instagram and I get instant feed back through likes and comments. I am able to tag my images meaning they can be seen and discovered worldwide and I am also able to easily follow other photographers here. I have links on my website to my instagram and tumblr. One last factor which is brilliant about the use of social media to promote myself is that the apps are free.
Tumblr
Tumblr is another great free app that can be easily accessed through my phone. I have always used tumblr so I am very used to the style of the website. Tumblr almost looks like your own website the only real different is that the world Tumblr is in the url web address. Again, with this social platform you are able to gain feedback quickly and easily on your images and the app is much more interactive than the likes of a website.
Wix
My website is much more of a professional platform in comparison to the other forms of social media or online platforms I use. My website is made on the website maker 'Wix' and I payed around £80 to get my website up and running for the year. Having a professional website in time for me leaving university was so incredibly important. Having a webiste and quickly being able to give out a web address or business card with my website on will make going for job interviews or even just meeting new people so much more affective. So many of my images are displayed here and the fact they layout and text ect is all my own personal choice means the site gives people a better idea of me as a person.
